Job Description

Position Title: Production Team Lead

Department: Assembly

Reporting to: Assembly Supervisor

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for the quality and quantity of shift productions. They will perform the assigned tasks according to the direction of their supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure that all assignment in their area of responsibility is completed in an accurate way, on schedule, and in a speedy and economical manner.
Assists supervisor with assigning work responsibilities to associates.
Fill in on the various line when employees are out, when appropriate, or directed by supervisor.
Guide and Train, all employees assigned to their area.
Monitor employees after initial training and informs supervisor of any issues.
Supports the implementation and maintenance of the defined 5s standards.
Ensure that all safety guidelines outlined by OSHA and Nifco KTW are followed.
Report immediately any changes in quality, production, safety, security, and environment to the Production Supervisor
Get information about the production plan before the start of the shift.
Assist with communication from the previous shift.
Coordinate with other departments of the company to promote good communication, good quality, and the best interest of the company.
Monitor production to ensure that time and labor align with the needs of the business.
Forwards suggestions for improvement Production Supervisor or Manager.
Comply with all regulation regarding workplace safely and accident prevention in everyday operations as well as informing the manager if deviations are detected during the shift.
Works with the Production Planner to plan production.
Be the “go to” person for the team through clear information and motivation.
Participate in production meetings.
Check for compliance and maintenance of work tools

Required Skills/Abilities:

Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them with appropriate
Education and Experience:

Associate degree or equivalent experience
Minimum 3 years’ experience in quality assurance role with evidence of PPAP and APQP work
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment required
Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts and prior experience utilizing these techniques
Technical knowledge of Plastic injection molding, paint, and assembly processes
Manufacturing experience.
Background in GD&T.
Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Computer Skills:

Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software.
Safety and housekeeping:

Belief in plant safety and housekeeping standards and procedures.
