HDCI/HDAP Apprenticeship Grant

The Technology System of Georgia HDCI/HDAP Apprenticeship Grant application, policy and highlights can be found at High Demand Apprenticeship Program (HDAP) – TCSG | Technical College System of Georgia. Applications are due September 13, 2024. All of the Existing 2- Year Apprenticeships listed on Georgia Mountains Works are applicable for the grant application.

The following are answers to the most common questions.

• Awards may be up to $5,000 per apprentice and eligible employers can apply for funding for up to 10 apprentices.
• You do not currently have to have the apprentice identified to make a grant application.
• No, the Employer does NOT serve as Sponsor. Sponsor Organization Name is Lanier Technical College caddison@laniertech.edu or North Georgia Technical College adam.fulbright@northgatech.edu.
• Yes, this is a registered USDOL 2-year apprenticeship. Start Date is 2025. Average cost of an apprentice is $12,000. Related Technical Instruction (RTI) is provided by the Sponsor, a public institution and is supported by the Workforce System (LWDA) and Technical College.

  • Industrial Maintenance (IMM APP101): 0308HY, 49-9041.00, Time Based, 630 hours, 4,000 hours
  • Quality Control Technician (QT APP101): 0462, 17-3026.00, Hybrid/Time Based, 300 hours, 4,000 hours
  • CNC Machinist (CNC APP101): 1094CB, 51-4034.00, Time Based, 600 hours, 4,000 hours

If you need further clarification, please reach out to your technical college. There is no penalty if an applicant doesn’t start the apprenticeship as planned. There is no guarantee of funds to applicants. Past recipients of this grant award in the region include American Woodmark, ASI Southeast, Linde Wiemann, Haering Precision, Patterson Pump, and Ranger Manufacturing.
